Buying & selling What should I do if I've been scammed?

If you think you've been a victim of fraud or scam, you should take the following action.

1. Report the user to Karrot

You can report the user for scam to us in the following cases:

  • The Seller has sent an item but the Buyer has not made payment within 5 days of receiving the item.
  • The Buyer has made payment to the Seller, but the Seller has not delivered the item within 5 days of receiving payment.
  • The item is found to be faulty or damaged without prior notification.   

2. File a police report

Before making a report first try contacting the Seller or Buyer again to resolve the problem. If an item hasn't arrived yet it might not be due to fraud, the Seller could just be slow in delivering the item or with communication.

To make a report, go to your local police station or call the local police operator on a non-emergency number. They will deal with your report and contact us if anything needs following-up. You can also report cybercrime by tapping on this link
